Solar panel cost in Naples, Florida
How much does solar cost in Naples, Florida?
We are not publishing a price for Naples yet, because we do not have a sourced basis for one. What we can tell you is exactly what determines it: system size, roof type, electrical work, equipment choice, and Florida's wind-load engineering and permitting requirements. The one thing that changed most recently is that the 30% federal tax credit no longer applies, so a quoted price is now much closer to what you actually pay.

What actually drives the installed price
- System size. Larger systems cost more in total and usually less per watt, because fixed costs spread further.
- Roof type and complexity. Tile costs more to work on than shingle. Multiple planes, steep pitch and obstructions all add labour.
- Electrical work. An older panel may need upgrading before generation can be connected, which is one of the most common cost surprises.
- Equipment choice. Panel and inverter selection changes both price and production, and the cheaper option is not always cheaper per kilowatt-hour produced.
- Storage. Adding a battery brings the battery, a gateway and often a backup subpanel, so it is more than the price of the box.
- Permitting and engineering. Florida wind-load requirements mean stamped drawings and inspection, and the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone adds more.
- Financing. A cash price and a financed price are frequently different numbers for the same system, because dealer fees are built into the financed option.

Your utility: Florida Power & Light
As an investor-owned utility, FPL offers net metering under Florida PSC Rule 25-6.065. A customer-owned renewable system must be sized so that it is not expected to produce more than 115% of the home’s annual consumption, and the rule also limits generating capacity relative to the service capacity. Exported energy is tracked as a kWh credit that offsets later consumption, with any remaining credit settled annually at the utility’s avoided-cost rate rather than the retail rate.
How to sanity-check a quote
- Get the price per watt. Divide the total installed cost by the system size in watts. It is the only figure that lets you compare quotes for different system sizes.
- Ask what production figure they modelled and how. If they cannot tell you the model and its assumptions, the payback number is not checkable.
- Check the system size against your consumption. Under net metering it should not be expected to exceed 115% of your annual use.
- Separate the cash price from the financed price. If they differ, the gap is a dealer fee and it is worth naming.
- Confirm no 30% federal credit is assumed anywhere in the numbers.

Start an estimateCommon questions
Why will you not just give me an average price for Naples?
Because we would be repeating a national figure and calling it local knowledge. We have no Florida installation partner price sheet yet, so we have nothing dated and sourced to publish. When we do, this page will show it along with the sample it came from.
Does the end of the federal tax credit change what I should pay?
It does not change what an installer charges, but it changes what the system costs you, because roughly a third of it is no longer coming back. That makes comparing installed prices more consequential than it was.
Are Florida installations more expensive than other states?
Florida wind-load engineering, stamped drawings and inspection add cost relative to low-wind states, and the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone in Miami-Dade and Broward adds more. Whether the total lands higher depends on local competition as much as on the code.
